Facial Hair Removal Products - Find Which is Best for You

For many women facial hair has been a source of concern and embarrassment, this has of course fueled the market to develop new and or improved facial hair removal products.

With so many of these gadgets, lotions, creams and methods in the market one would need a guide to categorize which method is which. In fact as per products, even though there are a multitude of names and coined terms we can generalize them into five. These five are depilatories, inhibitors, epilators, sugaring and waxing.

One of the most commons facial hair removal products in the market are depilatories, the beauty of hair removal creams and lotions is that it is simple and effective. You can go to the pharmacy, order online, or pick one up from the nearest super market, liberally apply over the target area, wait a bit and then wipe away. Depilatories dissolve hairs down to the skin surface. The benefits are low price and ease of use. Disadvantages may include user’s allergy to the cream or the depilatory’s chemicals may be harsh to the skin also this has to be done regularly because the facial hair will grow back.

Next on our list of facial hair removal products is the epilator. These gadgets are compact and battery operated.  They remove hair at the root by a method similar to plucking but use a gentler technique of accomplishing this. The main benefit of this kind of method is you only have to do this once every couple of weeks and the hair in the treatment area lessens in time. The challenge to this particular method is the accompanying sensation when one is epilating. Others claim the sensation is negligible but a few are bothered enough not to repeat it.

Sugaring and waxing basically have the same method; they make use of an ingredient that will make the hairs adhere to them, and then using a strip of fabric or other such material pull the hairs in the opposite direction to remove them. The main difference would be that waxing is not water soluble and sugaring is. Others also say that sugaring is gentler in a fashion because of the use of natural ingredients. Once again just like in epilating the main detriment of this method is the accompanying sensation when the strips are being pulled from the skin.

Lastly hair inhibitors are more an adjunct to facial hair removal products than a standalone item. It is for the most part used after one of the other methods we have discussed because it slows or stops the re-growth.
